:confused:Hello all,

I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I have two Simu-L light sticks, and I'm having some trouble with the programming. I have one connected to L1/L2, the other to L3/L4. The problem is when I plugged them in, all three colors, red, blue, and white, came on, and stayed on, even when I changed the times in Profilux Control. I'm doing the setttings via WLAN, but even when I change the settings on the front of the Profilux itself the same thing happens, that, is, all three colors still stay on. My settings are as follows: L1 and L3 are set as moonphase & thunderstorm, L2 and L4 are set as sunrise. I set L1 and L3 to come on at 9:30 PM and go off at 11:30 PM; while L2 and L4 are set to come on at 5:00 AM and go off at 8:00 AM. When I did these settings the light sticks stayed on, even though here it is the middle of the day and the lights theoretically should be off. What am I doing wrong? I'm sure it's something that I'm missing, but I'm at a loss as to what it is. If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much.

are the according 1-10V interface-functions (L1 ... L4) set to illumination 1 ... 4?

Hi Matthias,

Yes, I have the 1-10 interfaces set accordingly: Illumination 1 is L1, Illumination 2 as L2, Illumination 3 as L3, and Illumination 4 as L4.

Thanks Matthias, only how do I take screenshots?

I can tell you how I do it . . .

# Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. It may be labeled [PrtScn].

# Open an image editing program, such as Microsoft Paint.

# Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste.

# If prompted to enlarge the image, choose Yes.

# Optional: Use your image editor's crop tool to crop out unnecessary portions of the screen shot.

# Go to the File Menu and choose Save As.

# Navigate to the folder where you want to save the image.

# Type a file name for the image.

# Select a file type.

# Click the Save button.

Once I have it saved I upload it to a photo website (Photobucket for me) and then once there just copy and paste the IMG code here.

Good catch! I didn't realize there was no "ZERO" % in there anyway or that on the charts the light never "touched" the bottom which is ZERO.

For your first lighting L1 - L2
If you want it on at 9.30pm then second box 60min then 100%
off 11.30pm second box 30min then 0%
Hope this helps.

Do different versions of the controller and software have different options? The reason I ask is I'm running 5.0X (BETA) and on my "Illumination" page I don't have a DURATION option.

Sorry to Hijack your thread NewReefer I'll be in and out in no time :)

chippypah I have the ProfiLux Plus2 but the FW level is what I meant and it's 5.0X (Can't remember the exact # but it's the BETA one from 4/2010).

So is DURATION a component of PIII ?

No mate,
It is set by times not duration as it was in the two. More user friendly once you get your head around it LOL. So if you want it to come on at say 10.00am and be at full power at 11.00am you would need to put in 10.00 AM 0% 11.00AM 100% then the same thing in reverse for shut off.

:)Thanks, everyone, for the info.! I'll try changing my lighting times and let you know how it works out!

simple: "Duration" was used in 4.xx to define the dimming, in 5.xx this has been changed, only brightness and time

Ahhh that makes sense Matthias. I didn't realize (remember I'm VERY new to Profilux) there were so many "visible" changes from one version of FW to another.

thank you to everyone for your input and guidance.
