I have 2 of my 3 MH plugged in to 1 socket of my 6 socket digital power bar. It has been this way for well over a year. Today My 2 MH kept cycling on then off. I found that the extension cord the connects the 2 ballast to the power bar was very hot and had partially melted. Unfortunately I have not had time to measure the output form the socket (as I'm supposed to be working)
But thought I'd ask if this has killed my socket.

I us high amp extension cords and time my other MH to come on 10 minutes later

Thanks
Jason

Hi

Not surprised sorry, MH draw massive amps on striking this can exceed 60amps on some ballasts so imagine that over a year x2, the power cord melting is a sure sign of this.

Check the PB socket and make sure that has not melted also.

I have new sockets but not the control board at present.

socket has a little damage. so I ordered 2 of the high AMP sockets so that this does not happen again
Control board seems fine how much is a new socket?
