Hi there,

I have a couple of questions regarding the "alarm" feature on my Profilux II Ex. Firstly, when an alarm is triggered, is there a way to determine what has caused the alarm?

Secondly, why does the alarm get triggered, even when I have selected "Not enabled" in the Alarm section for every probe that I have connected?

Thanks in advance,

Ian.

Do you have a ProfiLux II Ex or perhaps a ProfiLux Plus II Ex?
What kind of probes do you use/ are connected to the ProfiLux?

Yes it's a Plus II Ex.

I have 1 x temperature, 3 x level sensors, 1 x pH, 1 x redox, 1 x temperature/humidity. All probes have "Not enabled" in the Alarm section.

Do you have the 'NULL PLUG" in the redox port?

Do you have the 'NULL PLUG" in the redox port? No, I have a probe connected.

if a probe causes an alarm you will see "AL" behind the probe reading on the ProfiLux
an alarm will occur when a probe is not connected - regardless of the "not enabled", this setting has only effect when exceeding the limits
->disable "activity" for all unused probes
maybe you have a level alarm - time overdue

I think I know what the problem is - your last comment gave me a clue. I have a temperature sensor that sits in an unheated water container. What is the minimum temperature that the ProfiLux can detect?

something about 13°C

something about 13°CAnd below this reading the ProfiLux thinks the probe is disconnected? I don't think I'll be rushing to add a ProfiLux to my pond!

You dont have to. Look at this: http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=91

Made for use with an pond.

there is special temperature probe for ponds available - it has a wider temperature range
-> change the measurment range in ProfiLux to "Pond" + use our Temp.-probe for pond

-> you are ready to add the ProfiLux to your pond

That's interesting, guys - thank you.
