View Full Version : Conductivity probe defective?

I can no longer calibrate my conductivity probe. I believe there is something wrong with either the probe or the profilux 3. The ADC values are both 18 and the reading is always 99.9 mS. It started about a couple months ago and would read correctly then go to 99.9mS then return to correct reading. The probe does not look physically damaged. Is there a way to test it? How can I tell if its the probe or the profilux? The probe was only used for a little over a year.

Hi

both ADC values 18 indicates a broken cable, most likely indside the BNC connector

are you able to crimp a new BNC connector on it?

I dont have the tools for crimping them.

Anyone in the US have the tools to do this? Is it possible that the probe is also defective or more likely just the Connector?
I hate to spend another $230 on a Probe that last a year.

Hi

this is a standard tool, in the past this tool has been needed to crimp ethernet cables with coaxial cable

It is possible that something in the connector got loose, it's a try worth.

I am not sure if this is possible matthias can confirm

Use old BNC connector and cable length from expired pH probe.

Cut off bad BNC connector and solder on new one, but as you are dealing with millivolts you need to make sure the connection is good.

I have done this with a pH probe before.

yes, this will work

I have a defective ph probe I can send you if you want to use the wire from it. Where in the US are you?
