the frmware 5.00p is in work, with this version all browsers should work now

if you like you can access here a ProfiLux 3 with FW 5.00p:
http://213.23.221.66/ (http://213.23.221.66/)
User: Admin (capital & small letters!)
Password: 123

I would really appreciate your feedback regarding the web access with several browsers, when issues occur we could change the 5.00p

Many thanks!

Hello,

I've just updated to version O. The username password Admin 123 doesn't work. Do you know the right username/password?

Btw, when does the P-version will appear on the downloadpage?

Kind regrads,
Martin

All on vista:
Safari 4.0.5 OK
firefox 3.6 OK
IE 8 OK

They all work without problems

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using IE8 but in combination with Windows 7 Ultimate. Is that may be the problem?

did you try 123 @ your P3 you just upgraded ?

then you must first set your pwd via PLC

MartinS
21.03.2010, 21:03
That helps. Thanx!

I've noticed when logged in as a guest you also can change the settings. I suppose that's not what we want.

I would like to see the option of not having a login for the guest or admin... either if no password is set, it would just go in or a option to say "no login required"

I think it would also make sense to merge the PIN with the admin password

That's the ProfiluxControl software. Latest version 5.0.0.11.

In my Profilux controll i have to change password to 123 in webserver and reboot profilux?

MartinS

Change the password to whatever you want in System, webserver... (from version 5.0.0.11 !!). Users are already defined: Admin and Guest. Reboot is not neccesary.

I don't think so, after login as guest settings can't be changed:

384

maybe a browser refresh problem?

it's probably a cashed page like Matthias mentioned

I've tried three types of OS's on three different machines. XP, Vista and W7. This is what I have noticed:

Logged in as Admin and Guest with W7 + IE8: nothing can be changed
Logged in as Admin and Guest with Vista + IE8: both users can make changes
Logged in as Admin and Guest with XP + IE8: both users can make changes.

Also the color of the menu-items (System, Snsors, lights etc.) looks randomly blue or orange. What should decide the color?

Do you hit logout and close the browser before you login again as an other user?
There may be a caching issue on some browsers...

The menu items are colored different, if the link have been clicked some time before...

MartinS
22.03.2010, 16:22
Yes I did. I suppose there's no other way to log on as another user before logging out. Or have I missed something?

By the way, the browser is in all three cases the same: IE8.

GHL Support

Hmm...

I've tested it with following browsers on WinXP without any problem:
FireFox 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 3.6
IE 6.0, 7.0, 8.0
Safari 4.0.5
Opera 10.50

The ProfiLux store the login information relating to your IP. Therefore the ProfiLux can't distinguish two connections from the same PC (IP).

Try following:
- open your browser window
- login as Admin
...then you can make changes
- click to logout
- close your browser window

- open your browser window again
- login as Guest
...now you can't make changes

Are you sure that options changed ? did you check with PLC ?
sure you can press on save with guess and in the browser it updatede the value but when I checked after my test in PLC it wasn't updated. .

If you don't want an admin pwd , I hope you don't put your P3 on the net :)

Well, I've tried different things and can confirm that although making changes in settings as a Guest can be made on the webpage, can't be saved. Should be nice if this minor bug can be fixed.

But when first logged in as Admin, logged out and logged in as Guest, the changes will be saved in the P3! Solving this real bug would also be very nice.

Another, much bigger problem that I have experienced when using PLC on a wireless connected laptop is the fact that the connection with the P3 is closed/broken many, many times. So it's very unreliable. With a wired laptop and PC it also happens but not as many times as wireless. Any idea how that can be solved?

is "Datum: 02:02:39" german?

MartinS:
We currently figure out the stability problem PLC connection via wireless connection. You have problems on a wired connection (no wireless path in the connection from PC to ProfiLux) too?

boboxx:
"Datum:" is german - means "date", but 02:02:39 seems like a time value. In German the date looks like that: 31.12.2009 (first day, then month)

It's very random. Sometimes, like today, hours a stable connection.

there is also a BR missing at FW-Version:5.00o date: 03/16/2010

No I run my profilux behind my firewall and access it via vpn...

That's also my current target solution, but I don't have a suitable VPN end point :( so currently no P3 webaccess.

MartinS
24.03.2010, 19:01
Why do you need VPN-access? "Normal"-access is also an option.

I don't undertstand this statement

connecting works fine for Guest and Admin, but when I log in as Admin, and I touch the illumination control, the profilux switches to manual override.
That by itself is fine for the time being, but when I log out, the profilux stays on manual mode, until I physically hit the ESC button on the profilux.
