Matthias,

I cannot connect to the PII Ex controller through WLAN. I am able to ping to controller and also able to access the WLAN web page without any problem from my computer. Can you advise what's wrong with my settings?

Here is my network setup as follows:
ROUTER <IP: 192.168.1.1, DHCP from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.49>
Access Point <IP: 192.168.1.50> wired connection to Router (Access Point DHCP function disable) and it provides the wireless connection for equipment to access the network and internet.
PII Ex <WLAN IP: 192.168.1.120>

Once I changed the settings after saved, I rebooted my controller and Access Point too.

I also bought USB adapter too, connection failure too. I am still learning how to get the controller connected by viewing the threads here.

Thank you in advance...

it seems you have a connection to the PLM-WLAN using the web browser, then it must be possible to connect over ProfiLuxControl, too

were you able to connect to ProfiLux before enabling security settings?

Firmware version of ProfiLux?

Hi Matthias,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

The Firmware of Controller is 4.06. I bought it on December, 2009 and didn't use it until now. I just tried to get it installed and it cannot be connected successfully.

Thanks.
Jean

My router never ever activates the security settings in my network at home, the WIFI is opened for public.

Once I started the installation of Profilux, my WIFI network hasn't no security settings at all, for instance, no WEP, WPA or WPA-PSK...etc,.

Hope I don't get wrong of what you are asking me.

Thanks.

there is only one thing left: are the baudrates matching?

in ProfiLux (under menu communication) the baudrates must be the same as in Lantronix (usually 9600)

spiderlai

I didn't change the baudrates in both of the Profilux and PC-software.:confused::confused:

Hi Matthias,

I bought an USB adapter for Profilux II Ex too. I give a try on USB connection to Profilux when WLAN problem is solving. BUT I cannot connect to controller too.

http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz68/spidermacau/USBSettingfromProfilux.jpg

http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz68/spidermacau/DeviceManager.jpg

I tried the following too -

I manually input the com15 port, no connection.
I changed Device Address from 2 to 7, no connection again.

Shall I confirm you the settings in Profilux Controller that I input, Matthias?

System --> Communication --> Device Address <my input is 2> --> Com port input <I choose Com3 - Serial> --> 9600 Baud --> Save Now? <my input is Yes> --> then wait until saved --> unplug the power for 10 seconds --> switch on again --> run the ProfiluxControl again --> Profilux completed the autoscan --> then try to connect in ProfiluxControl Software

RESULT : NO CONNECTION AGAIN! PLEASE HELP, MATTHIAS :confused:

ProfiluxControl Version: 4.0.8.1
Profilux Controller II Ex Firmware: 4.06

Thanks in advance again.

device address is usually 1 (you selected 2) - unless you changed it in the device, too

yes, I cid change the Controller's Device Address to "2" too.

some operating systems and/or drivers have problems with COM-numbers above 9

please change it in the device manager (something between 1...9), change it in ProfiLuxControl accordingly

Thanks Matthias, I will try it accordingly.

For the USB connection, should I choose COM3 in the PII Ex? It shouldn't be COM1, right?

I don't understand

For the USB connection, should I choose COM3 in the PII Ex? It shouldn't be COM1, right?

the COM numbering in the ProfiLux can't be changed and doesn't matter

e.g. "COM3" for the PLM-USB in the ProfiLux has nothing to do with "COM3" in the windows device manager

There are totally three options for me to choose in PII Ex for COM ports, they are COM1 - SERIAL; COM2 - WLAN & COM3 - SERIAL. I just want to confirm whether USB Apart always refers to COM3.

Actually, I did many test today for USB Adapter connection, unfortunately no connection too. What I did as follows:

Removed USB Adapter and WLAN card from PII Ex, then inserted USB Adapter only to Controller, NO CONNECTION.
Reset the Controller to Factory Setting and tried, NO CONNECTION.
Tried to connect by two different computers (VISTA and Windows 7), NO CONNECTION.

I would like to send you some pictures and video which were taken during my settings to Control.

Matthias, thanks for your help during these two days and I do hope to get the problem solved as I saw quite a lot of cases solved successfully in this Forum.

Thanks in advance.

is this the newest Prolific driver?

Yes, that was downloaded and installed. The worst is I cannot find the RS232 serial cable which cannot be used to upgrade the Firmware of Profilux II Ex.

Hi Matthias,

I am sorry to tell that I still could not get my PC connected to the Controller. I tried my XP yesterday, same connection problem happened to me.

I bought a WLAN at the very beginning, I then bought another USB Adapter because of failure connection of WLAN. I get the same connection problem with my USB Adapter too.

:confused::confused:I really get a big head right now and don't know what I do next.

Could you tell what I have to do next for this issue.

Thanks in advance.

there is one thing left

I saw you are using a far eastern windows - maybe it is a compatibility problem

any chance of testing it on a PC with English windows?

Hi Matthias,

I did try every method to connect to my PII ex, no luck again. I didn't know where I went wrong. I have to give up and will send the Controller to my local dealer and try to find out the solution.

Please send me a reply if you have other options which can help to solve my problem.

I will post again if I get the solution as reference for guys here to review.

Thanks,
Jean
