Hi, My mixed reef 130L*70w*60d has been lit by 3 LX6300 one of which has just burnt out after about 11 years. (Originally had 2x Lx6100 or where they LX6200? unsure) which were upgraded to LX6300 pucks in about 2016 when I bought an additional new Lx6300) the units are mounted perpendicularly. I ran the lights at about 80% of capacity all as slaves off the Profilux wireless card so could control easily via connect and or control centre. I have been more than happy with the units and my tank has thrived.

5 questions/opinions please:

• Are the LX7204 identical to LX7206 with just 2 less pucks and no side control panel?
• How much more powerful are the new units than older Lx6300 (?). Can I get away with putting the 4 puck LX7204 in central position to replace burnt out unit or would it be essential to have a LX7206 instead to maintain roughly same illumination?
• I have a feeling the older of the remaining units is going to fail possibly soon. If that happens, could I run the tank with just two LX7206 units with roughly same output as three LX6300 units?
• I gather I can control both old and new via Profilux master hopefully? by my making all fittings as slaves? IF not what do people do?
• I assume the spectrums/timings can be copied from old to new units, if not is there a recommended workaround?

Thank you in anticipation of your collective advice.

1: yes
2: LX6300 ~15000lm, 7204~10000lm, 7206~15000lm
3: The 7206 is suitable as a replacement for the LX6300
4: Yes, you can operate it as master or slave
5: The switching channels for the respective spectra are the same, you can keep your existing configuration

PIWAWI Thank you for your advice. So from what your saying, If I buy 2 new LX7206 units and keep the newer LX6300, I can make them all Slave and use the Profilux 4 as Master to control them all using my old LX6300 spectrum/timings?

If you use the ProfiLux Wireless Interface (PLM PWC), I don't see a problem. Both lamps use the same communication method, the assignment of the switching channels to the respective LEDs are the same. Only, the 72xx has more dimming steps. These are then simply of no use to you, since the LX6300 can not do more. I see no problem to operate all as a slave and the Profilux as a master.
