Hi Folks,

I am interested in your Doser 2.1. Can this doser be connected to an Apple MacBook laptop? It appears to me that it can, but I only see Windows, and not Apple, being mentioned. Sorry for having to post this question, but I've been reading so much info on dosers that my head is spinning. I don't have a cellphone(can you believe that), only an Apple Mac desktop, MacBook Pro laptop and an old iPad. I am assuming there is no manual control, only wireless.

I will appreciate any info you can provide.

Hi,

you can also use the GHL Doser2 Standalone with Apple devices. Manual control of the pumps can be done by using the keys on the front of the device, but no configuration.

Using GHL Connect app for iOS there are several connection types available, which allow you to fully configure and operate the Doser2:

- direct connection via WiFi to the Doser2's hotspot
- local connection via WiFi through your home-network-router

- connection via myGHL-server on the internet (making it also possible to connect on the road)

More information about GHL Connect can be found here: https://www.aquariumcomputer.com/software/ghl-connect-app/

There's still the possiblity to use GHL Control Center, which is a Windows application, if you use Parallels with a Windows installation:

You can learn more about the Doser2 if you download and read the manuals and also the related knowledge base articles, which might help you to get an idea of all the features and how to operate it properly:

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I am still confused about the operation of the 2.1 SA. Do I have full capability to program my dosing needs from an iOS device such as my iPad? I was able to download the GHL Connect to my iPad, so I believe I can use your software to do my programming, and won't need to manually set parameters from the buttons on the unit. Is this correct? What confuses me is the mention of the GHL Control Center being strictly a Windows application. Is the GHL Control Center not needed to control the doser from my iPad? Is it only needed to control all of the GHL products from one place(the control center)? I'm sorry for additional questions, but this is confusing to me?

Any info. and help you can offer will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Gary Reynolds

Hello Gary,

You can connect to and control the doser using the GHL Connect app. This video shows you how to do that:

GHL Control Center is another way to connect to the doser via USB or Wi-Fi on a windows computer. If you want to connect the doser to your home network and setup cloud access, you can do it using GHL Control Center.
