I am looking at the Mitra LX 7206's, but it states that these lights cannot be used inside a canopy. Is that for ventilation purposes or because of moisture? My intentions are to have my lights installed inside the canopy structure with direct ventilation to the top side of the canopy. The lights wont actually be mounted IN the canopy. Would this be ok? the attached pictures are for clarification. They are a pair of AI Hydra 26's on my previous tank.

Hi,

Enclosed canopies may trap humidity and heat if they are not adequately ventilated. As long as you have active air circulation to keep the humidity out and the light is not too close to the water or splashes, the LX7s will be fine in a canopy. Judging from the picture, it looks like the current lights are sitting on-top of the canopy. If you're planning to do the same for the LX7's that will also be fine.
