View Full Version : Using sockets 23-26 on a P3

I am currently using 3 x 6D power bars and one 4 pump doser all daisy chained off S1-S4.

I want to add another 4 pump doser to sockets 23-26. The P3 will not let me program it.
How do I make this happen?

Hi

You do not have the socket function availability to add a 4 pump in this state of set up, you only have 2 socket functions left.

You would have to subsitute a 6D power bar for a PAB power bar then giving you enough free sockets on S1S4 to do this.

The PAB dosing pumps which would be the easier and cheaper option are not released yet, and I do not know when either but I guess Q3-4 of 2010

the problem is the existing hardware - the powerbar and the dosing unit was designed for a maximum of 24 channels -> they only support starting numbers below 24 and this can't be changed because this is determined by the software in the powerbar resp. dosingunit

but there will come a solution soon: in the next P3 firmware we will have a new function where S5-8 can be used to control sockets 32 - 55

thats great news! Can this also be implemented with Plus II?

no, this makes no sense because the PII will not have more than 24 sockets

Has this firmware been released? If so what version?

Sounds great, looking forward to this update. Will I need to update ProfiLuxControl 5.0.0.7 to ProfiLuxControl 5.0.0.11 also?

yes, update to 5.0.0.12 is necessary to enable the new function

5.00p/5.0.0.12 update has been done over serial without the use of the flasher.
Reconnected with LAN flawlessly.
Under System/Socket Functions, when I checked the box beside "Digital powerbar connected to S5-S8" a box popped up without any descriptive text. What is supposed to be in that box?

thanks for the hint - it seems I forgot a translation

this is a warning - only enable "digital" if a dig. pb is conn. to S5-S8
