Got the KH Director and a nice piece of equipment!

1. How should the pump calibration be properly done? Should I do measurement to the end of the tube going into the KH director?

2. I see a check box with record measurements, but I cant find anywhere where the measurements are stored. How to get the logged measurements?

Also is it a "break in period" on the device? It started on 8.6, then 8.3 and start stabilizing on 7.9 that should be about correct.

Hello Aleksander,

1. The pump calibration is done independently for each pump like on every Doser. If you can use the prepared tubes, this would be the best case,
but it should not really affect the measurements.

2. In the latest version of GHL Control Center, you can export the stored data and visualize in the measurement chart.
Furthermore, if your GHL system ist connected to myGHL, the data will be already transmitted to the database and can
be shown along with the other sensor charts in the next release soon.

3. The break-in period you are mentioning seems to normal. We could also see 0.3 dKH on the first 2-3 measurements,
but afterwards it is steady.

Found it, thank you.

Yes, after the first 2-3 measurements its been stable :)

Hello Aleksander,

thank you so much for your feedback

Got the KH Director and a nice piece of equipment!

and thank you for sharing your measurement results, glad to hear the latest measurements match your expected KH.

In regards to the first 2 measurements which seemed a bit away from the target value, here is the explanation:
We think that it takes sometimes a few measurement cycles until the system is completely filled with reagent. Although we use internally very thin tubing for the reagent and keep it as short and even as possible and although you do initially a venting for this tube there still stay some very small bubbles in the tube at the beginning.
Since the reagent amounts during measurement are so tiny even a small amount of air, which is pumped instead of reagent, has a high impact on the calculated KH value.

It seems you are the first KH Director user posting in the forums, so please forgive me when we are curious to learn more how our customers use it.

Would you like to post some pictures of your setup?

Are you controlling the KH? If so - how? Or just measuring?

Some information about your system would be highly appreciated!

That is fully understandable. I noticed when I did a 100ml measurement was when it really settled out and started measuring correctly. As for all new equipment I do always expect some break in time, and 2-3 measurements before stable was very good. I compared with Hanna-tester and my ICP results and its exactly as expected. Im going to run it several times a day just to try and see how it reacts.

My plan is to let it control my Triton method as its all about the KH so it would be a perfect match

Here is a picture of my setup:

this is some equipment

are you sure you don't suck algaes into the probe tube?

Yeah I have the following GHL now

4x mitras Lx7,
1x P4
3x dosers 2.1
4 PAB 5.1 Powerbars
1x Extension box
and of course expansion cards, leak sensors, flow sensor, float sensors ++++ Im not sure if you have more that I dont have hehe.

No the tube is not in the fuge. I put it down in the middle compartment where its only a reactor and nothing else except the GHL probes.
