Hi, just setting up a new 280 gal cube reef tank . Dimensions 44x44 inches and 36 inches deep.
How many mitras units should I use considering sps/lps corals. Are these lights strong enough to penetrate and give enough light to a tank of this depth?
Thank you for you advice

Hi there,

You'll get plenty of light 36" down if you use 4 units on High output mode.

How many inches above the top of tank would you recommend? I m also buying a profilux 4 unit. Can I use slave units entirely to manage my mitras?

Hi Adriano,

We recommend 8-12" as a starting point. Since you have a tall tank, I would suggest placing them about 9 or 10 inches from the water.

With a ProfiLux 4, you can wirelessly control all 4 Mitras by setting each fixture to SLAVE mode and using our PLM-PWC expansion card. Any changes you need to make to your lighting schedule will be done through the P4 connection instead of the LX7 connection as the P4 will become the MASTER with this setup.
