View Full Version : Doser 2.1 unable to dose 0.1ml

I am not able to dose anything lesser than 1 ml, both automatic or manual dosing. I have tried changing the speed to 0 and 1, but still can't dose 0.1 ml (or 0.9 ml).

Is mentioned in the specification that doser 2.1 can dose 0.1 ml. Please advise.

Some more details would greatly be apreciated.

Does the doser deny to dose this amount or can't you enter the value in GCC?

Slave or Standalone?

Firmware?

etc.?

I can enter the decimal value, eg. 0.1 ml but system will not dose when it reaches the time to dose for automatic dosing. For manual dosing, when enter amount with decimal, when click "OK", no reaction on doser. And when amount changed to 1 ml, it dosed.

Mine is Standalone and firmware is 1.24.

do you use the slowest speed for this extreme small amount?

has the doser been calibrated at this speed?

do you use newest GCC?

Yes I have calibrated the pump at 0 speed at 8.5 ml/min. When dosing at 0.5 ml per dose per day, pump didn't dose at the dosing time scheduled. Even dose manually using "dose specific amount", it doesn't dose when click OK (no reaction) for anything less than 1ml.

I have tried both GCC (10.9.1) and myGHL.com also same (doesn't dose).

Is this a common problem or just my unit?

It will not dose under 1ml if the correct settings have not been entered. Please post a screenshot of the dosing schedule settings.

I already did the setting as per Matthias advice. Because it doesn't dose lesser than 1 ml, so I have no choice but to change to 1 ml per dose.

Just wondering, did you check the time settings on the doser?
If the doser's time is off, it may be dosing that 0.1mL at a time you're not looking?

Munloong

Yes, the doser time was set correctly (on the overview print screen). I can see the doser dose when I changed it to 1 ml but not 0.1ml.

Can you try the following please:
1. Download latest GCC
2. Try dosing 0.1/0.5 again. If still does not work..
3. Re-apply firmware
4. Dose again.

Downloaded latest GCC (v1.0.9.6) and re-applied firmware 1.24 still cannot. I set it to dose 2.5ml once a day, and the calculated daily dosing amount is 2ml (supposed to be 2.5ml). If I changed it to dose 0.9ml, the calculated daily dosing amount is 0ml. It just doesn't dose anything in decimal. As you can see the screen shot attached. 9313

Can someone enlighten me by showing a print screen of the calculated "daily dosing amount" lesser than 1ml or in decimal eg, 1.6ml.

the internal resolution of the calculated daily amount is 1

sorry for that, but I think this is a minor problem

The specs said that it can dose 0.1 ml and that's the reason I bought GHL. So will there be any firmware update to rectify this problem?

Did you find any solution on this? Is it correct the Doser 2.1 can NOT dose 0.1ml and only 1ml minimum? That is a problem for me who ordered two dosers to drop dose aquaforest products :/

The Doser 2.1 can dose in 0.1ml increments as long as the pump speed is set to (0) or (1). Once the schedule has been set, if the total daily amount is below 1ml, GCC will still display 1ml as it is the lowest value that can be shown, but the doser will still dose the requested amounts below 1ml.

Ah, so its just a bug in the software? I assume that will be fixed down the line?

Nope. When I changed dosing to 0.1ml it will display as 0ml and not 1ml. See attached. And it will not dose at all.

Dosing amounts below 1ml will be importent for me when i decied to buy a ghl doser or not.
My current grotech can dose 1ml as a minimum.

No. Probably you have to wait for Doser 3.0 or consider other brands.

I have not well understood.
Apart the bug that daily dose is shown as 0 (zero) the doser can dose 0.1 ml daily or not?

The Doser 2.1 does and will dose 0.1ml as long as calibration is done correctly and settings are entered correctly.
