Temperature reading incorrect

My actual temperature is saying 40.0C in my temperature control, on the PC app.
My Profilux display is reading 'TEMP 1 ***' with alarm flashing red.
I have checked my water temp with 2 other handhelds and are both reading 26.7C
What could be my problem and what can I do to fix? Is there simply a temp reset button?

Due 'TEMP 1 ***' means a not correct plugged temp sensor, check if the prug is inserted correctly into the correct socket and if the cable and the sensor has no damage.
If you can´t find any problem, check if the pins in the plug are bend (this happens rarely if you put in the plug not correct and with too much force)

The sensor has been plugged in and working fine for the last 3-4 years without fault. It has not been touched or moved, but a couple days ago I noticed the alarm.

then the probe or the ProfiLux port (wet?) is damaged

-> so I would try first to replace the probe
