How about a UPS version of a power bar. It could power the GHL and your circulation pumps to keep the tank going through most short power outages and having the GHL P3 powered would allow it to identify the power outage and send an email etc.

I'm guessing the only way it would be able to send an email was if you had the SMS unit as if you had a power outage your internal home network would also be down? I do like the idea thou, shaped like the controller or PAB expansion box and sensing a power outage it could switch off certain devices on the powerbar and itself power the critical devices such as flow and aeration. (along the lines of the Ecotech Marine Vortech Battery Backup)
