Default Cut and reconnect level sensor cable?

My skimmer keeps overflowing and I would like to add a level sensor to the skimmer cup, but I don't want to drill a bigger hole to fit the standard plug through. Could I cut and reconnect the cable towards the dry end by the controller so I can thread it through? I have a spare float valve. Is it just 2 wires +\-? If wired in correct polarity are ther any issues e.g. Resistance?

I'm using a Madison submicro floatswitch on an ADIN card, works a treat!

    Hallo James

No, you won't have any problems. The sensors do not work with resistors, but with pass/no passage.
