Firmware update on Profilux 4 crashing laptop!!!

Hi All
Has anyone else come across this? my laptop is saying there is no digital signature for the driver update when I try to download the latest firmware, and crashes, I have tried reinstalling the latest GCC and manually tried to install the driver, it's says I have the most up to date driver, but when I look for the com port it just isn't recognising the driver. In device manger under drivers it just says unknown driver... Help please.. thankfully my profilux is still working with a power off reset.

Do you have the powercord in? You wich com-ports?
