At Interzoo we showed our new ProfiLux-Eheim-Controller for the Eheim Professional 3 e external filter.

This is a small device which connects a ProfiLux with an external filter, with this device ProfiLux is able to control the Eheim Professional 3 e.

Overview:
- flow rate controllable through a current pump program of the ProfiLux
- this enable us to produce "ebb/tide" or "waves", of course limited through the capabilities of the pump - an external filter is not a wave maker ...
- feeding pause
- measuring and analyzing of the current filter state -> if wanted output of alarms is possible
- connection to RS232-interface of the ProfiLux, due RS232 is looped through it is possible to connect ProfiLux View, PC or SMS-module at the same time on the RS232 port
- concurrent connection of the Eheim-interface is possible

Prototypes are running already, the controller will be available for retail in approx. 2 months.

This is how they look like:

Nice work guys. This will do alot to help spread controllers into the freshwater world too rather than them just being seen as something for the high end marine market.

Any reason for this, is there some design/feature changes?

Thanks

I need 2 Profilux-Eheim Controller...
How to connect to the Profilux computer ?

Eheim filters professional 3e models (2074 electronic, 2076 electronic, 2078 electronic) are supported by the EHEIM-Controller.

There is only one Eheim filter possible at the ProfiLux computer at the moment (one filter at the EHEIM-Controller and one EHEIM-Controller at the ProfiLux).
I don't know, if this will change in future.

I hope the management of multi-filter will be supported in the future....

Some threads ago anyone suggests a PAB version of the Eheim controller, maybe GHL could act on that.
I think, daisy-chaining of the serial port is at it´s end now .... (PC, View II, Eheim controller, SMS unit ....)

you have to consider that PAB is only a option for those who have a P3

PAB, what is it ?

It means ProfiLux Aquatic Bus (PAB), further description at http://support.aquariumcomputer.com/german/download.php?did=22

PAB version of the Eheim controller sounds like a good solution.

I think GHL made a 'smart' business decision here by providing the serial eheim adapter.

you can't forget => alot of freshwater users only need a P2 => more freshwater oriented (its enough) and there is no pab on a P2 => serial for eheim (also big in freshwater).

A smarter business decision would of been to make it as a PAB and to do a PAB accesory card or converter box for the p2 :)

It has been told from the beginning => the P2 isn't powerfull enough.

- And making a limited PAB (e.g with only some of the PAB devices working ) for the P2 would only create more ********** users.
Since they would think I have PAB and I can use all PAB devices

IMHO: if GHL needs to make a choice (only only moneywise , but develloptime , resources wise )
They see vortech controller + PAB easy choice
Eheim freshwater filters + eheim pump + serial easy choice.

I could be me but the only eheim pump I run on my marine reef are my ATO pump (freshwater) , phosban reactor and none of them need variable steering.
